BOC’s Speciality Gases Facility team at Immingham has been designated as the Global Centre of Excellence for natural gas mixtures, petrochemical mixtures and liquid hydrocarbon mixtures by the global HPO supply chain management programme.
The work of its specialist team of technicians and analysts has seen it come top in a round robin of specialist analytical laboratories conducted by the UK’s National Physical Laboratory.
The Immingham facility includes the biggest liquefied gaseous chemicals site in the country, a business which is seeing strong growth particularly in the water treatment market; and it is the biggest refrigerants recycler in the UK which is also successfully growing its offering. Recent investment and the completion of two new filling rigs and a temperature controlled cylinder store, have made the site even more productive and cost effective.
Branch manager Tony Ogden said:
“It’s a great accolade to receive, and being the Global Centre of Excellence really adds a string to our bow. We’re all very proud of the work we do here and it’s great to be recognised by our peers in this way.”
BOC has recently become part of the global Linde Group. “There’s no doubt that the acquisition by Linde has delivered real benefits and being named a Global Centre of Excellence means that investments in this area will be directed towards us,” added Tony.
