Grimsby waste minimisation firm Environmental Expressions is celebrating a major food manufacturing group contract worth £6 million.
19 January 2010
The firm has been appointed by Moy Park, a chicken producer and processor that is part of the Brazilian Marfrig Group, after beating 19 other companies who tendered for the work.
The new business is expected to see turnover doubling and up to 20 more jobs created.
Maurice Call, managing director said:
“This news is good for us and good for Grimsby. The fantastic thing about it all is that it will create jobs. We will need to strengthen our accounts and administration departments, we will be looking for more management staff and recycling co-ordinators who will look after a number of sites and take responsibility for the activities there, ensuring we achieve what we have said we will.”
Formed in 2003, Environmental Expressions has worked with Grimsby-based food manufacturers Coldwater Seafood and Headland Foods to help cut down waste as disposal fees soar.
The company are now looking at the potential of a waste to energy plant on site.
