Major Hotel Investment in Grimsby

Visitors to the Greater Grimsby area have a newly refurbished hotel to consider.

The former Hotel Elizabeth in Grimsby has been redeveloped and refurbished by new owners, Icon Hotels, and has been renamed The Humber Royal Hotel. Substantial funds are currently being invested in the property to make it one of the leading hotels for both service and quality in North East Lincolnshire.

The extensive twelve month refurbishment programme commenced mid February with the upgrading of the bedrooms to provide a modern, comfortable room offering superb value for money. 32 of the 52 bedrooms have already been completely renovated and the remainder will be completed by September.

Anne Bennett the hotel’s general manager commented:

“All rooms have a 1600 king size bed, together with top of the range linen and quilts and a 32” plasma television with a choice of over 60 channels. All bathrooms have been fitted with a 3-option power shower providing a pulsating massage to a gentle rain shower from oversized showerheads. We have installed a new electronic security key system which in the future will be developed to allow you to check in using your mobile phone. The views from the hotel bedrooms overlooking Grimsby Golf Club are second to none, with most having a balcony area.”

Complimentary wi-fi for all hotel guests will shortly be introduced and the launch of the website which will have up to date information on the hotel will also allow rooms to be instantly booked and confirmed.

This will then be complemented by a refurbishment of the ground floor, which will see the introduction of casual dining in the form of a Brasserie including a combined bar/restaurant area and the upgrade of the existing reception and cloakroom facilities. The hotel will also be undertaking a review of the disabled facilities to ensure these meet statutory requirements.

As part of a re-branding exercise the hotel will initially be renamed The Humber Royal Hotel, a name which is known and recognised by many of its customers and local clientele. This will be followed by the introduction of the company’s brand name after refurbishment, linking the past to the future.
